    Description

    Amazing example of an early 1840’s china doll on wooden body. She measures about 7.75” tall.
    You will get the clothes that she came in, which I carefully removed with a seam ripper. They were not in good condition, so I did not feel badly about taking them off to inspect her body. Her clothing appears a little later than she is from, probably from the late 19 century.
    I have not seen any damage to her China. On the back of her shoulderplate near the bottom, it appears that part of it is not completely glazed and is a little rougher. I don’t think this is damage, but in original flaw. Please see images. This is the first of this kind of doll I’ve had with a China head, and her arms at the top where they meet the shoulder feel a little loose. Perhaps this is the way they were made. I’m not sure. It does appear like there is part of the wood missing from her left buttock area, although this is not super noticeable.
