    Description

    Late Roman Infantry Spangenhelm Helmet
    Late Roman Infantry Spangenhelm Helmet
Solid replica of a late Roman helmet, found in 1960 in the old Castell Gariannonum, today Burgh Castle Norfolk, England, is a helmet of the Roman infantry who fought against the Saxon invaders in this area in the 3rd century.
A very typical helmet from this transition period between Late Antiquity and the Early Middle Ages.
The helmet consists of four segments, which are connected to each other by a clasp and a comb.
It has movable cheek and neck flaps lined with leather inside and around the brim and has a short riveted nose.
Just like its original, handcrafted and riveted with brass rivets.
The helmet has a comfortable leather inlay.
The cheek flaps can be tied to match a leather strap.
