This is an indian rosewood (dalbergia latifolia) back and side set. Indian rosewood is an excellent tonewood that has been the mainstay of high end guitars for many years now. It has grown more and more difficult to obtain high grade indian rosewood in the last couple of years.Rosewood refers to any of a number of richly hued timbers, often brownish with darker veining, but found in many different hues. All rosewoods are strong and heavy, taking an excellent polish, being suitable for guitars. Bends very nicely and is quite stable.
